Internal Happiness vrs External Happiness

So many people tell me they’re happy, but when I asked them what makes them happy they will go on to share with me all the things in their life that makes them happy. Things like their family or their friends, or even their job. While this is entirely acceptable, real empowered Happiness lives inside of us. It does not rely on any external person, thing or event.

Internal happiness is a default setting. Like a part of your core programming that is always there. It may not always be active, meaning that there will be times in life where we feel sad, angry, agitated, stressed, but because it’s a default setting it doesn’t take long to find that happiness again.

It also means that when those external people, things or events come into our lives the happiness is exponentially increased. As well as being able to find happiness in the small things like the sunrise or sun set, the butterfly dancing around on the window sill or the birds singing beautifully in the morning.

Real, Empowered Happiness lives inside, like a beautiful well that continually feeds the soul.

But how do you create this? How do you make HAPPINESS your default setting?

Firstly, I want to say that each and every one of you deserve happiness. It is your birthright and it is possible. I have heard from clients in the past that their therapist has told them that happiness is not a default setting. I am physical proof that it is. I know what the darkness of depression feels like and I know what the brightness of happiness feels like. It is possible!

Secondly, it really is only a thought away, although when you are in the depths of depression that change of thought can feel impossible. I know, I used to be there. I now know through what I have learned that it really is a thought away. It really is a change in perception and thinking. It’s a choice.

But how do you change that thinking? How do you find that ability or strength to change that thought pattern?

You need to work through your stuff! Your need to work through and release the accumulated emotional baggage that has brought you to this point in time. And more importantly you need to take responsibility for your life. And I mean every part of your life as it is right now.

No matter what is going on in your life, you have a choice on how you feel about it. You have a choice to either make changes in your life or changing the way you feel about it. That’s it. And quite often, you can choose to stay where you are, feeling the same way about life and never finding happiness. Forever playing the victim of life.

I realise this may seem like harsh words to some, but I was there. I was a victim for so long until I tried to end my life, but it was someone else’s tough but true words that somehow energetically slapped some sense into me and gave me the kick up the behind that I needed to finally deal with my stuff so that I could find real happiness. Yes it took a lot of self-discovery and personal responsibility and yes it took time, a year to be exact, but I now know what happiness is.

So if you want to finally find real and empowered happiness in your life make the decision today to find that certain someone that can help you. Commit to working through your baggage so that you can live an EMPOWERED and HAPPY life.
