Kinesiology

What is Kinesiology?

Kinesiology is the science of energy balancing and is grounded in the study of anatomy and physiology. It combines testing and muscle monitoring, with the principals of Traditional Chinese Medicine to assess energy and body functions, applying a range of gentle yet powerful techniques to improve health, wellbeing and vitality. Fundamentally Kinesiologists believe that the body has innate healing energy and is doing its best to care for itself, but sometimes it needs assistance in finding this balance.

Kinesiologists think in terms of a triad of health. This means I would look at all aspects of your health. Using muscle monitoring I would ascertain if there were any stresses in your diet, your muscles or your emotional / mental / spiritual state.

How does Kinesiology Work?

Kinesiology recognises that there are flows of energy in the body that relate not only to your muscles but to every tissue and organ. These energy flows can be evaluated by muscle monitoring (or testing the function of the muscle). Muscle monitoring involves me applying gentle pressure to your muscles while fully clothed. Any stress is reflected in the way your body responds to this pressure because your muscles are connected to your nervous system. I would look beyond the symptoms and would not name or diagnose diseases. As kinesiology is not limited to dealing with ailments, energy balancing brings a person closer to achieving any goal of your choice – in learning, coping, sports, relationships or anything else you chose to work on.

The session will be tailored to your individual needs and will be guided by the muscle monitoring. It may incorporate one or many of these activities:

• Counselling and Coaching
• Gentle Exercise/Body Movements
• Gentle Muscle Manipulation
• Acupressure
• Dietary Changes

What are the different types of Kinesiology?

I have completed my International Diploma of Professional Kinesiology Practice.  I can help with:

• Different types of pain
• Headaches, back pain, muscle pain, RSI, frozen shoulder, etc
• Pelvic Floor issues
• Boosting Sports Performance & Motivation
• Weight Management and Detoxification
• Depression & Anxiety
• Stress and Adrenal Fatigue
• Fatigue and Lethargy
• Learning Difficulties
• Enhancing Learning
• Overcoming Addictive and Behavioural Problems
• Improving Confidence & Self esteem
• Overcoming Phobias & Fatigue
• Identifying Nutritional Deficiency or Excess
• Achieving Goals
• Immune mismatch issues

Brain Gym

Brain Gym can often bring about rapid improvements in reading, writing, language, and numerical skills. It can also enhance the quality of a person’s attention, concentration, relationship, communication, memory, organisation skills, athletic performance and more.

Brain Gym activities are lively and fun to do for all. They require active participation and can require full body or isolated movements. The names of the movements reflect the movement itself. For example when performing “The Elephant” the client moves his/her arms just like the trunk of the elephant, in the shape of a figure 8. This movement helps with listening, memory and regulating one’s own speaking voice.

Brain Gym can help with:

• Promoting play and the joy of learning
• Drawing out and honouring innate intelligence
• Building awareness regarding the value of movement in daily life
• Emphasising the ability to notice and respond to movement-based needs
• Encouraging self-responsibility
• Empowering each participant to better take charge of his own learning
• Encouraging creativity and self-expression

Primitive Reflexes

Primitive reflexes are reflex actions originating in the central nervous system that are exhibited by normal infants, but not neurologically intact adults, in response to particular stimuli. They are the body’s way of learning how to move and the brains way of evolving and integrating higher brain function.

For some children and even adults, if the reflexes are not fully integrated they can cause learning and emotional issues. The most common reflex that presents itself in my clinic is the Moro Reflex, which is related to the fight or flight response. Children or adults may be overly frightened in situations that do not warrant that reaction. They may be overly anxious, depressed, cannot handle change or criticism, not like loud noises or flickering lights (like fireworks.)

Other reflexes that I work with include:

• Spinal Galant Reflex
• Tonic Labyrinthine Reflex
• Fear Paralysis Reflex
• Palmer Reflex
• Asymmetrical Tonic Neck Reflex
• Symmetrical Tonic Neck Reflex
• Babinski Reflex

To help integrate these reflexes I use a combination of muscle work, exercises and Brain Gym movements.

LEAP 1: Learning Enhancement Acupressure Program

LEAP re-synchronises brain neurology to give an individual full access to their potential abilities. It can be used to correct a variety of dysfunctions or to enhance and fine tune already functional individuals by understanding how our brains engage in learning and the factors that prevent or interfere with this process.

LEAP provides a powerful way to set up the body bio computer for correction. It looks at the Amygdala Fear/Pain Control Circuit, deep level switching and blocked Corpus Callosum.

I have had great success using LEAP 1 with many clients. It may assist in the following areas:

• Overcoming learning challenges
• Enhancing sports performance
• Being more focused and organised
• Starting and finishing projects with ease
• Reaching new levels of excellence
• Creating ease in learning and living
• Dyslexia

Applied Physiology

Applied Physiology is another branch of kinesiology that goes deeper into the energy system of the body.

The Human Blueprint

In our Human Blueprint, we hold patterning that makes us who and what we are – some Karmic, some programmed or learned and some from our Ancestral patterns. By accessing the Human Blueprint, we are accessing the Multi-Dimensional part of ourselves and making deep and powerful changes.

Complete Immune System

We all have a Master Template of our Physical Immune System that is often called the Etheric Immune System which organises and maintains the physical immune system.  By connecting with and balancing this system, we can make long lasting changes to our physical immune system.

Tibetan Figure 8’s

The figure 8 energies are another level of energy that flows within and above the body.  It interacts with the physical body primarily through the meridian and chakra systems.  There are many Figure 8 energies throughout and around the body.

You can read more about the Energy Systems of our body by clicking here.

Multi-Dimensional Kinesiology

Multi-Dimensional Kinesiology is a new paradigm within the kinesiology world.  After 20 years of working with clients in various healing modalities, I have come to understand that we are so much more than just this physical being – we are Multi-Dimensional Beings.  I have integrated this knowledge and experience into my Kinesiology practice using tools from many different modalities, creating a unique experience.

This has allowed my clients to heal and release various issues from their “whole” being. This includes their various energetic bodies, as well as other incarnations (and so much more).  These sessions are powerful as together we embark on a journey of healing and release.

Sessions for Multi-Dimensional Kinesiology usually require 1.5 hours (rather than the usual 1 hour session).  Please mention this at the time of booking if this is what you would like.
