Kinesiology is the science of energy balancing and is grounded in the study of anatomy and physiology. It combines testing and muscle monitoring, with the principals of Traditional Chinese Medicine to assess energy and body functions, applying a range of gentle yet powerful techniques to improve health, wellbeing and vitality. Fundamentally Kinesiologists believe that the body has innate healing energy and is doing its best to care for itself, but sometimes it needs assistance in finding this balance.
Kinesiologists think in terms of a triad of health. This means I would look at all aspects of your health. Using muscle monitoring I would ascertain if there were any stresses in your diet, your muscles or your emotional / mental / spiritual state.
Kinesiology recognises that there are flows of energy in the body that relate not only to your muscles but to every tissue and organ. These energy flows can be evaluated by muscle monitoring (or testing the function of the muscle). Muscle monitoring involves me applying gentle pressure to your muscles while fully clothed. Any stress is reflected in the way your body responds to this pressure because your muscles are connected to your nervous system. I would look beyond the symptoms and would not name or diagnose diseases. As kinesiology is not limited to dealing with ailments, energy balancing brings a person closer to achieving any goal of your choice – in learning, coping, sports, relationships or anything else you chose to work on.
The session will be tailored to your individual needs and will be guided by the muscle monitoring. It may incorporate one or many of these activities:
• Counselling and Coaching
• Gentle Exercise/Body Movements
• Gentle Muscle Manipulation
• Dietary Changes
I have completed my International Diploma of Professional Kinesiology Practice. I can help with:

Brain Gym can often bring about rapid improvements in reading, writing, language, and numerical skills. It can also enhance the quality of a person’s attention, concentration, relationship, communication, memory, organisation skills, athletic performance and more.
Brain Gym activities are lively and fun to do for all. They require active participation and can require full body or isolated movements. The names of the movements reflect the movement itself. For example when performing “The Elephant” the client moves his/her arms just like the trunk of the elephant, in the shape of a figure 8. This movement helps with listening, memory and regulating one’s own speaking voice.
Brain Gym can help with:
• Promoting play and the joy of learning
• Drawing out and honouring innate intelligence
• Building awareness regarding the value of movement in daily life
• Emphasising the ability to notice and respond to movement-based needs
• Encouraging self-responsibility
• Empowering each participant to better take charge of his own learning
• Encouraging creativity and self-expression
Primitive reflexes are reflex actions originating in the central nervous system that are exhibited by normal infants, but not neurologically intact adults, in response to particular stimuli. They are the body’s way of learning how to move and the brains way of evolving and integrating higher brain function.
For some children and even adults, if the reflexes are not fully integrated they can cause learning and emotional issues. The most common reflex that presents itself in my clinic is the Moro Reflex, which is related to the fight or flight response. Children or adults may be overly frightened in situations that do not warrant that reaction. They may be overly anxious, depressed, cannot handle change or criticism, not like loud noises or flickering lights (like fireworks.)
Other reflexes that I work with include:
• Spinal Galant Reflex
• Tonic Labyrinthine Reflex
• Fear Paralysis Reflex
• Palmer Reflex
• Asymmetrical Tonic Neck Reflex
• Symmetrical Tonic Neck Reflex
• Babinski Reflex
To help integrate these reflexes I use a combination of muscle work, exercises and Brain Gym movements.
LEAP re-synchronises brain neurology to give an individual full access to their potential abilities. It can be used to correct a variety of dysfunctions or to enhance and fine tune already functional individuals by understanding how our brains engage in learning and the factors that prevent or interfere with this process.
LEAP provides a powerful way to set up the body bio computer for correction. It looks at the Amygdala Fear/Pain Control Circuit, deep level switching and blocked Corpus Callosum.
I have had great success using LEAP 1 with many clients. It may assist in the following areas:
• Overcoming learning challenges
• Enhancing sports performance
• Being more focused and organised
• Starting and finishing projects with ease
• Reaching new levels of excellence
• Creating ease in learning and living
I saw Carolyn for help with finding clarity about priorities in my life. I felt pulled in multiple directions which was stressful and draining my energy. After one session I felt calm and content! I had clarity about where I wanted to put my energies. I think I really need kinesiology to stay centered and balanced. I'm looking forward to another session to cement what I gained the first time, or to see where it leads. Thank you Carolyn, after I had struggled with things for months, you made it so simple!
Carolyn you are amazing!!! These essences & your work, support, listening, encouragement has been my saving grace! I haven't had aniexty since i started them on Friday, & if i have it's been extremely mild, so much so I managed to take myself out shopping by myself today to Richmond & then to meet my girlfriend in Brunswick for lunch! Thank you xx
Carolyn provided a very professional service at a critical time in my life, having lost my son in an unexpected tragic car accident. Carolyn worked on me and with me to release "whatever" and "clear" my way to move forward. I am extremely thankful we crossed paths.
I had the pleasure of having a Skype session with Carolyn. Going into the session I had no idea what Kinesiology was about and how it would assist me. Carolyn took the time to find out what was happening in my life and how she could help me. She offered me some great solutions that are very easy to incorporate into my day without feeling like a burden. Thank you Carolyn.
I went into my session with Carolyn at Empowerkin Kinesiology without expectation and was blown away. When I arrived I had been suffering from a painful hip flexor that caused me to limp and on occasion unable to walk. I had never experience Kinesiology before and wasn’t even sure if it would even improve my hip flexor. Within minutes of Carolyn starting the treatment, I was blown away by how the body works and is connected. Being a personal trainer I understand muscle and movement, but this opened up a whole new level of body connectivity to me. At the end of the session, I felt strong, balanced and connected in a whole new way to my body. I would highly recommend Carolyn and Empowerkin Kinesiology, it was truly an amazing experience.
I just wanted to say a huge thankyou to the wonderful Carolyn. Not only were you able to work your magic on me, you were also able to determine exactly what my body needed at any time and work on that area specifically. I always leave feeling physically and spiritually rejuvenated. Your passion for helping others really shines through and I would thoroughly recommend you to anyone who needs a physical and spiritual lift! Thanks again and I will see you soon.
I want to say a really big thank you to Carolyn. You have helped me to relieve my lower back pain. After having three pregnancies, I have been suffering from lower back pain. Carolyn helped me strengthen my pelvic floor muscles. I would highly recommend Carolyn to all my friends and family. I found to be very attentive, respectful and professional. A really amazing experience. Thanks again Carolyn.
In my Kinesiology sessions with Carolyn, I have found her to be a supportive, professional and knowledgeable practitioner. During our sessions she has been able to tap into issues which have been effecting me for a long time. After our sessions I feel centered, calmer and more in control of my life. Thank you Carolyn.
Much love and thanks to you Carolyn, I always enjoy balances from you, feeling at ease to open up in the safe environment you create, comfortable to express my true thoughts and trust your amazing methods that work. I feel emotionally balanced, clear minded, energetic and ready to conquer any past emotional pain that arises. All I have is praise in the work that you do, big fan, V Pose all round! \ 0 /
My daughter is 7 years old and has delayed development. Because of this, she struggles with her school work and behaviour and self esteem. My daughter has always about 6 months behind the rest of her class. In working with Empowerkin Kinesiology and Carolyn my daughter has caught up with her reading and is in the middle of her class now. We have less self esteem issues and she has more confidence within herself to take on challenges which most children find easy in which she has struggled with. I would recommend Empowerkin Kinesiology to anyone who is willing to give Kinesiology a go. It has help my daughter in becoming a more confident young girl.
